Wooden passive houses that run themselves.
Kozy builds low-energy homes from cross-laminated timber, with home automation we design ourselves. Simulate yours in ten questions and get an indicative price.
Three ideas, one house
Passive by design
A thick insulated envelope, triple glazing, airtight construction and heat-recovery ventilation. The house stays warm in winter and cool in summer on very little energy.
Built from wood
Walls, floors and roof are CLT panels cut in the factory and assembled on site. Timber stores carbon, goes up fast and makes warm, healthy rooms.
Automated from day one
Shading, ventilation, heating, lighting and solar run on one system we design ourselves, on open standards. The house adapts to the weather and to you.
The range
Five models named after Portuguese trees, from a garden studio to a family home. Every model can be adapted to your plot.
Your house in ten questions
One choice per step. Watch your house go up from the foundations to the solar panels, then create your account to get your estimate and follow your project.

Site visit
We visit your plot, check access, orientation and soil, and confirm feasibility.
Design and permit
Our architect adapts the plans and files the building licence with the Câmara Municipal.
Factory
CLT panels are cut to the millimetre, with openings and service routes prepared.
Assembly
On a prepared foundation the shell goes up in a few weeks, then our partners finish the interior.
Handover
We commission the automation, test airtightness, and walk you through your house.
Our first houses, near Fátima
We are building our first prototypes on our own land in the Centro region. They will be open to visit, so you can feel the comfort of a passive wooden home before you decide.

Questions
What is a passive house?
A building that needs so little energy for heating and cooling, at most 15 kWh per m² per year, that a small heat pump and heat-recovery ventilation are enough. It relies on insulation, airtightness, good glazing and orientation.
Is a wooden house durable and safe in a fire?
CLT is solid engineered timber. In a fire it chars on the surface and the char protects the core, so the panels keep their strength for a predictable time. Well-detailed timber houses last for generations.
Do I need a building permit?
Yes. In Portugal a house needs a licence from the Câmara Municipal. We prepare the project and handle the application with you.
What does the automation control?
Heating and cooling, ventilation, motorised shading, lighting, solar and battery, and security. It keeps working without the internet, and you can use it from an app or ordinary switches.
Is the simulation price final?
No. It is an indicative estimate. The final price depends on your plot, the foundations, the connections and the design study, and it is fixed in the contract.
